PART #47
Duala went to the second chamber to get Sinhala; and he suggested Sinhala go to the third chamber and ask the male lion warriors to come to the front chamber of the lair. He told the females it would be their job to care for the little cubs until everyone returned.
Sinhala and the lion warriors went to the first chamber as Duala said, "Please listen to Mandahas as he gives you information on the giant who now is in the southern kingdom." Mandahas stood on a large flat rock in the chamber; and he told the lion warriors the giant had come into the village in an iron clad cart driven by a driver and he was accompanied by members of the White Tiger Coalition. He spoke of giving directions that would require the long route being taken to the area of the caves. He told them of the narrow pass and the rope bridge that was over the deep ravine that would permit only one person to cross at a time.
Mandahas said, "I would like for the lion warriors to go the regular route and that would bring you into the cave area from the opposite direction. If and when the giant crosses the rope bridge, we want him to be confronted by you, the lion warriors. If he does not cross the rope bridge safely then you will have experienced a walk that allows you to see the end of the giant. Once we all know the giant is gone, you will be able to take your families and return to the northern kingdom."
Sinhala asked, "What if the giant refuses to cross the bridge, what is going to happen at that point?" Nethaka entered the conversation and said, "Duala and I are going to take the long route. We will be waiting at the bridge if the giant decides he is going to flee." Mandahas asked, "Duala, do you really think it is good for you to leave the lair? I would be more than happy to go with Nethaka. Besides, I seriously doubt you, as large as you are, could get through that pass. I would leave Ando here to help with the cubs and you would be in complete charge of everything here. If you go out; and you are seen by any of the man creatures, I am afraid that will bring more and more man creatures here to track you down and kill you. Personally, I don't want to lose you. Our whole family loves you."
Duala could sense the emotion in the words that Mandahas shared. He said, "All right, I will stay here at the lair; and Ando will help me with keeping the cubs safe and happy." Mandahas thanked Duala for he knew the call for battle was strong when it came to the giant. There was nothing Duala would have liked better than dealing with the giant who had caused so many problems. When Mandahas and Nethaka were leaving the lair, Duala said, "Please put an end to Ajith Malli."
